AECP: Seasonal Scene Building

 Hi there friends!

Todays post will focus on the cards that I created for the Seasonal Scene Building course that’s part of the Altenew Educators Certification Program. I created three cards with very different scenes. Let’s take a look!

Card One:

It’s getting chilly here in Pittsburgh, and chilly weather means winter is right around the corner. While winter is my least favorite season, winter and Christmas cards are my absolute favorite to create! So of course my first idea was to create a winter scene. This card features the Globe Builder Die Set and also the Layered Snowflake embossing folder. After I colored the trees with a Rustic Wilderness Oxide Distress Ink, I applied texture paste to them and sprinkled on loose glitter. While that dried, I repeated those steps with the snow slopes. Then I cut out the “happy winter” using some dies from Honeybee. Once dry, I assembled my card and then I was complete! On to card two!

Card Two:

For my second card I wanted to create a fun, comic like scene. For this I broke out those little cute ninjas from the Ninja Invasion stamp set. I started off with ink blending Fossilized Amber and Orange Marmalade Distress Ink onto the Illusion Spiral stencil. Once I was done with that, I  stamped out the body of the ninjas using Obsidian black ink. I then die cut the ninjas. Lastly I stamped the hands, faces, and the swords. The reason why I did that step last is because it easier for me to line up the stamp on the die cut image. For the conversation bubbles’ I used my Lawnfawn Speech Bubble Backdrop die and selected three sizes that worked best for the sentiments I wanted to use. I also ink blended those with Orange Marmalade Distress Ink. I then assembled my card. I made it interactive by using wobbles behind two of the ninjas. How fun!!

Card Three:

For my last card I created a scene that I have been wanting to create since last year. I have no idea what took me so long to execute my idea, but hey… here it is lol. For this card I used the Hanging Lights mini stamp set and also one of last years Stamptember exclusive sets, Everyday Home. I just think these two sets go perfect with one another! I stamped the images using Obsidian black ink then I colored them in using my Hawaiian Shores markers. The floor was embossed using my Honeybee Barn Wood Planks. I shaded the floor with Paper Bag and Dark Chocolate ink and then I shaded the perimeter of the card with Buttercream ink.

I hope you all enjoyed todays cards!

:-) Dom
