AECP: Easy Die Cutting Techniques

Happy New Year crafty friends!!

I hope that you all had a great holiday with family and friends and a very happy new year. I took a bit of a break from the AECP classes to focus on the holiday. Now that we are in January I’m getting back into the swing of finishing out my AECP level one courses. Today I will be sharing two cards that I’ve made after completing the Easy Die Cutting Techniques classes.

Card One:

The first card is a happy new year card that I will be sending to a friend. I wasn’t able to get her Christmas card out before the the 25th so I figured sending a new year celebratory card would be a nice alternative. This card features a few techniques from the class. First, the pink frame was embossed with a die. I used the biggest die from the Mix and Match Frames die set for thr embossing. For the second step, I die cut out the center using the middle die within the set. The other technique I used was inlaying. I did this with both the white center and also with the numbers. I first took a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 size of paper and stenciled the floral design using the Playful Patterns stencil. Once I was happy with that I die cut it using the middle sized die from the set. I then used my ruler to mark off where I wanted my numbers to go. Once complete I die cut the numbers from the patterned white paper and set that to the side. I then took some Dazzling Diamond glitter card stock and die cut the numbers. Once complete I put the pieces together like a puzzle. I then stamped on the greeting using stamps from the Calming Cluster stamp set and poof! A completed card 😄.

Card Two:

My second card uses simple die cutting techniques. I used the Radial Circles cover die for the background. It’s a simple yet impactful die and I love it! The flowers are from the Ethereal Roses stamp set. So funny sorry on this one. This card SHOULD had been completed on New Year’s Eve, however about 30min before the ball dropped here on the east coast of the US I realized that I didn’t have the die set for this stamp set!!!! Ugh, I was so upset with myself for not buying it sooner. Yes, I could have fussy cut them out, however that would have defeated the purpose of making this card for the die cutting class. So at 11:53pm I placed my last crafty order for 2023 lol.

I hope that you all are inspired by these cards. Let me know what you think in the comments.

Have a great day!!!
😊Dominique
