Mother’s Day Window Card

Mother’s Day will be here before we know it! Today I am sharing a spring themed Mother’s Day window card.

  • When I sat down to craft, I knew that I wanted to make a Mother’s Day card. So I picked out my desired stamp set and set it to the side.
  • Next, I figured out what dies I wanted to use and I set them aside.
  • For my card panel, I selected a cover die with a good amount of cut out spaces. I was going for a lattice look and feel.
  • Die cut all of your floral elements and glue them together.
  • Select your desired sentiment and stamp that onto vellum. Since I used a water based ink, which can take a while to dry, I sprinkled clear embossing powder on the sentiment and then heat embossed it. Once dry, I die cut using a banner die from my stash.
  • Now it’s time to figure out your placement of everything. Once you finalize your layout, start to adhere your elements to the card panel.
  • Now, take a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card base and lay the card panel on onto the base but do not glue it down! You are going to want to keep the panel temporarily secured using magnets (if you are working on a magnetic surface) or some low tack tape.
  • Using a pencil, lightly trace the inside edge of the of the card panel. Since you want a standard book fold card, you are going to trace the left edge.
  • Next, cut the card base along the edge of the traced line that you just created. Not the whole base, just the part where you traced.
  • Once cut, you are going to want to use double sided tape on the small portion of card base. Then you are going to want to adhere the card panel to the card base.
And thats it! You have a completed card.

I hope that you were inspired today!
